This is what lives in the zip pocket of my work jacket. It changes a little every few months, and I’ll say so in a post when it does.
The everyday bag
- A pocket sketchbook with thick cream paper, about A6
- A fountain pen with waterproof ink
- A fine liner for when the fountain pen runs dry
- A pencil and a small sharpener, for when I want to plan a view
When I have a bit more room
- A tiny tin of twelve watercolor pans
- A water brush with a squeezable barrel
- A folded paper towel, which does more work than anything else
- A flat cushion, because wet benches are a fact of life in Cork
A rule I keep
If a tool makes me think about the tool instead of the street, it goes back in the drawer. Questions about any of this are welcome at [email protected].
